Patent Attorney
Chu Van Thuan is expert on all aspects of patent/design law and practice including preparation of patent/design applications, patent drafting, patent counseling, patentability searching, re-examination, preparing opinion on validity, non-infringement and freedom-to-operate and patent due diligence. His primary focus is on litigating complex in the fields of Materials Science, Polymers, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Organic Synthesis. Additionally, Mr. Thuan is also experienced in preparing and drafting responses to office actions related to various statutory and procedural issues. He is an acknowledged expert in the practice of patent reexamination, patent invalidation, patent litigation and the negotiation of patent infringement settlements. Besides, Mr. Thuan is responsible for Intellectual Portfolio Filing and Due Annuity Management for clients.
Before joining with Patent Team of NTT as the Lead of Materials Science Group, Mr. Thuan had worked in a challenging but rewarding position for Dong Anh mechanical company such as Head of Materials Department in more 10 years.
EDUCATION
Mr. Thuan earned his Bachelor of Polymers Engineering from Hanoi University of Science and he was honored with a Master in New Materials Engineering from Hanoi University of Science and Technology in 2007. In additional, he obtained his Bachelor of Law from Hanoi Law University in 2012.
